Says, Similar actions will continue against those involved in narcotics smuggling
Srinagar, Mar 26: In a decisive move against the drug menace, Kulgam Police on Wednesday attached property worth over ₹1.5 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler in the Nussu Badragund area of Qazigund.
Police spokesperson in a statement issued here reads, The confiscated assets include two double-storied residential houses linked to Reyaz Ahmad Ganie, who is currently detained in Central Jail Kot Balwal under the PIT NDPS Act.
The action was taken under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act after an investigation confirmed that the property was acquired through illicit drug trade. The operation was led by Additional SP Qazigund Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, supported by SDPO Qazigund Mansoor Ahmad and SHO Qazigund Masood Ahmad, under the overall supervision of SSP Kulgam, Shri Sahil Sangral (IPS).
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to uprooting drug networks in the region, warning that similar actions will continue against those involved in narcotics smuggling. They also urged the public to report any illegal activities, reinforcing their mission to build a drug-free society, reads the statement.
