The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum, District Pulwama, organized a candlelight vigil on Tuesday to pay tribute to the innocent lives lost in the Baisaran Pahalgam tragedy.

The solemn procession, which began at Police Station Awantipora and culminated at Kharmod, was attended by prominent pedagogical figures, including Provincial President Irfan Nazir, District President Javid Jameel, and Zonal Presidents from various zones.

The educators marched silently, holding candles, to condemn the wanton violence and express their commitment to non-violence, social justice, and human dignity.

Addressing the gathering, Irfan Nazir emphasized the need for an educational paradigm that fosters empathy, moral clarity, and civic consciousness. He demanded accountability and justice for the Baisaran Pahalgam victims and their families.

The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum reiterated its dedication to advancing a pedagogy that is academically rigorous and morally responsive to the region’s sociopolitical contours.

The candlelight vigil was a poignant expression of collective mourning and pedagogical solidarity, reflecting the teaching fraternity’s commitment to promoting peace, justice, and human values.
