Pulwama, May 21, 2025: Waheed Ur Rehman Para, public representative from Pulwama has strongly urged the Jammu and Kashmir Health Department to expedite the fulfilling process for vacant Medical Officer posts in Pulwama district.

He emphasized the urgent need to address the growing healthcare challenges faced by the local population due to staff shortages and lack of essential medical equipment.

“The healthcare infrastructure in Pulwama is under severe strain. With numerous Medical Officer positions lying vacant across primary health centres and rural hospitals, patients are suffering due to lack of timely care. This is a matter of immediate public concern,” Para said.

He further highlighted the critical shortfall of diagnostic and emergency medical equipment in many government-run facilities in the Pulwama, calling it a major impediment to effective patient treatment and emergency response.

Para appealed to the Health Department to take swift action, ensuring that both human resources and medical infrastructure are adequately provided to meet the district’s healthcare needs.

“This is not just an administrative issue, it is a matter of saving lives. Pulwama deserves a functional and responsive health system,” Para added.
