Kashmir Still Bears the Wounds of Partition: M Y Tarigami

FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, July 23 : CPI(M) leader M Y Tarigami on Wednesday said that while the wounds of Partition have slowly healed in other parts of the country, Kashmir continues to suffer its impact even today.

According to KNS, Tarigami said, “Punjab was wounded during Partition but received some relief over time. In Kashmir, the pain remains fresh. Even today, Kashmiris are being punished for sins they never committed.

Why?”

He reflected on India’s struggle against British rule and the deep scars left by Partition, adding that Kashmiris are still caught in that unresolved history.

“People must reflect on how British decisions during Partition created long-term suffering for regions like Kashmir. Voices raised during that time still echo today,” he said.
