Girl group MAMAMOO’s Hwasa, a well-known K-pop idol in the South Korean entertainment industry, recently stirred her fans’ excitement by announcing her return with an intriguing video shared by her agency, P Nation, on their X (formerly Twitter) account. Now, she has also revealed the first teaser for her upcoming music video, titled NA. The singer and rapper, who launched her solo career in 2019, makes a striking appearance wherever she goes. She has given a glimpse of this in the recently dropped teaser.
In the official clip, Hwasa makes a dramatic entry quite a few times. The 18-second clip opens with her descending stairs in a stylish, bodycon brown dress paired with a long cape. She continues to tease viewers with more dance moves while wearing a matching co-ord, followed by a white dress. The video also shows her walking on the streets, sometimes even in the middle of the road as it rains.
At one point, she casually holds a cup of tea, dons black sunglasses and finishes with a wink straight at the camera. The song, NA, is the lead track from Hwasa’s upcoming second solo mini-album titled O, which is set to be released on September 19 KST.
Fans of the singer are totally hyped, with one commenting, “She is about to serve the bop of the fall. This sounds so fun. Queen Hwasa is so back.” Another fan wrote, “Mother is mothering Can’t wait you look amazing Hwasa!!! Queen.” “My goodness, I’m already obsessed! As expected from THE queen Hwasa,” read another comment.
“She’s the epitome of a strong, independent woman!!” one fan praised. “Queen Hwasa, been waiting for her comeback!!! Finally,” another added, while some noted, “This song sounds like it would be played at fashion shows.”
Before this, on September 9, Hwasa’s agency P Nation had dropped a pre-teaser on their account, where Hwasa is seen wearing a white bodycon dress and holding a newspaper. The newspaper headline read, “Hey Guess What” in bold letters. As she flips the paper, it reveals that her comeback is set for September 19.
P Nation had also revealed the name of Hwasa’s upcoming mini-album, O. They posted another teaser featuring Hwasa in a brown outfit, dancing at a train station. Sharing the teaser on X, they wrote, “The wait is over. The 2nd Mini Album [O], 2024.09.19 (Thu) 6 PM KST.”
Hwasa’s second mini-album, O, comes four years after her debut album, Maria, which was released in June 2020. That album made her the first Korean soloist to top the US iTunes Album chart. O will also mark her second release since signing with P Nation, the agency founded by PSY. Her first project with them was the single I Love My Body, released in September last year.
