Instructs for its early opening for traffic

SHOPIAN, MARCH 03: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today convened a meeting of officers regarding the opening of Mughal Road for vehicular traffic.

DC enquired about the feasibility of opening of Mughal Road for regular traffic movement. The concerned officers from BRO and Mechanical Engineering Department apprised about the snow clearance operations along the vital road link, across the Pir Panjal.

They intimated that recent snowfall has delayed the opening of Mughal Road as the snow clearance process had to be started afresh.

DC while emphasising the importance of the road, directed the concerned authorities to speed up the snow clearance work with deployment of adequate machinery so that it can be made through for traffic soon.

ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; ARTO, Tehsildar Shopian and other concerned from Mechanical Engineering and BRO attended the meeting.
