A load carrier driver died while two others were injured after a vehicle they were traveling in skidded off the road in Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

An official told that load carrier bearing registration number JK13B-9592 skidded off the road, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to two others.

“The vehicle was being driven by Mohd Iqbal Poswal, son of Bilal Poswal, a resident of Reasi, Jammu. He, along with two passengers—Shahida Parveen of Heward Kapran and Mohd Khalil Chichi of Katra, Jammu—sustained injuries in the accident,” he said.

The injured were immediately evacuated to PHC Verinag for medical treatment. However, the driver, Mohd Iqbal, succumbed to his injuries at the health facility. The two other injured persons were later referred to SDH Doru for advanced treatment.

Meanwhile, Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation—(KNO)
