Calls for efficient and compassionate public health service delivery
BUDGAM, JULY 14: In a bid to ensure effective functioning of healthcare services, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat today paid a surprise late-night visit to District Hospital Budgam.
The visit, aimed at reviewing the emergency services, maternal and child health care, and overall hospital operations, led to the identification of several gaps that require immediate action.
During his thorough inspection, DC closely examined the facilities being provided to patients, and interacted with both staff and visitors to understand their concerns.
While acknowledging the hospital’s critical role in serving the population of district, Dr Bilal stressed that government health services must be delivered efficiently and with compassion.
He inspected various wards and the emergency department, identifying areas where improvements are necessary.
DC emphasised the need for the hospital administration to focus on the gaps and directed swift action against any dereliction of duty by the staff.
Additionally, DC highlighted the importance of maintaining accurate medical records and the timely issuance of essential medicines to patients.
Medical Superintendent(MS) Budgam was directed to ensure the availability of doctors as per the roster and to implement a more efficient duty management system, especially in critical areas like the emergency ward, to avoid any disruption in services.
Among others, DC was accompanied by CMO Budgam, MS Budgam and other medical staff during his visit.
