Reasi, July 23 (JKNS): Two youth lost their lives in a landslide near the revered Shiv Gufa (Shiva Cave) in Badora area of Mahore during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the victims were sleeping in a tent near the cave site when debris (malwa) from a nearby mountain suddenly came crashing down, burying the tent under its weight. Both individuals died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Rashpal Singh (26), son of Soba Ram, resident of Tuli Kalavan, Tehsil Chasana, District Reasi, and Ravi Kumar (23), son of Purushottam Kumar, resident of Chenani, District Udhampur. Rashpal was reportedly working as a JCB operator. The duo had been preparing for an upcoming religious program at the cave shrine when the fatal incident occurred, they said.

Upon receiving information, a police team reached the location, retrieved the bodies, and initiated further investigation. (JKNS)
