Srinagar, Aug 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on Sunday cancelled the OMR-based written examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical), Power Development Department, which was held earlier in the day.

Reports indicate that today’s JE (Electrical) exam conducted by JKSSB was marred by serious mismanagement.

At Kothi Bagh Girls Higher Secondary Centre, reportedly students were initially informed that the exam had been postponed and were made to wait. 1/n @OmarAbdullah pic.twitter.com/V5v0Tg7Cav

In a notice issued by the Controller of Examinations, JKSSB said the test, originally scheduled at 35 centres in Jammu and Srinagar, was successfully conducted at 34 venues but could not be held at one centre due to weather-related exigencies.
“Accordingly, the Board has decided to cancel the examination conducted on 24.08.2025 and the same shall be conducted afresh,” the notification reads, adding that the new date will be announced separately.
