Budgam, Aug 26, KNT: In view of the prevailing adverse weather conditions and forecast of heavy rainfall, lightning, hailstorms, strong winds, cloudbursts and thunderstorms, Budgam Police on Tuesday announced a dedicated emergency helpline service to assist the public and ensure immediate response in case of distress.

Officials said that the Police Control Room in Budgam has been made operational round-the-clock with landline and mobile contact numbers for people to reach out during emergencies. Citizens can dial 01951-255207 or call 8082567612 and 6006751939 at any time of the day.

In addition to the control room, senior officers including the SSP Budgam, Additional SP, DySPs and SDPOs of different subdivisions, as well as SHOs of all police stations and incharge officers of police posts, have been made directly accessible to the public through designated contact numbers.

Authorities have urged residents of Budgam district to remain cautious in the wake of the severe weather forecast and assured that police teams will remain available to extend assistance wherever required.

Budgam Police appealed to people to stay safe and promptly report any emergency situation to the control room or nearby police units for quick intervention. [KNT]
