under Inclusive Education of SAMAGRA Shiksha J&K in collaboration with ALIMCO Kanpur (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing corporation of India) was organised by the Chief Education Officer, Pulwama at BHSS Kakapora Pulwama of two zones, namely Pulwama & Tahab in District Pulwama.
The event was held in collaboration with ALIMCO Kanpur, a premier institution in the manufacturing of assistive devices for persons with disabilities. The main objective of the camp was to identify and assess CWSN, paving the way of suitable aids and appliances to support their educational and developmental needs.
The Chief Education Officer, Pulwama, who presided over the event as the Chief Guest, graced the ongoing efforts toward strengthening inclusive education. He highlighted the resilience and potential of children with special needs, and emphasized that education must be accessible and empowering for all children, regardless of physical or developmental challenges.
The Principal of BHSS Kakapora extended a warm welcome to all guests and participants, stressing the significance of early interventions, accessibility, and equal opportunities for every learner, as envisaged in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Adding to the vision of inclusivity, the Zonal Education Officer, Kakapora, in his address, emphasized the importance of early interventions and the accessibility of inclusive education for children with special needs. He stated that such measures are essential for enabling these children to lead independent and dignified lives. He also highlighted the crucial role of parents in shaping an inclusive, supportive learning environment, encouraging greater parental engagement in the educational journey of their children.
A dedicated team of experts from ALIMCO carried out the assessment and measurements of the children, identifying their individual requirements for assistive devices and rehabilitation support. This collaborative initiative will go a long way in promoting inclusivity and improving the educational experience for CWSN.
The camp was made successful by the tireless efforts of the District Coordinator (Inclusive Education), supported by a team of Resource Persons and Special Educators, whose commitment ensured the programme’s smooth execution and meaningful impact.
This Assessment-cum-Measurement Camp marks a significant stride in the direction of inclusive, equitable education, reaffirming the collective responsibility to ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive.

Chief Education Officer, Pulwama.
