Srinagar, Oct 27 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government has marginally reduced the Capex allocation for municipalities in the Union Territory for the financial year 2025–26.

According to the Housing and Urban Development Department, an amount of Rs 634.53 crore has been allocated under the BE Capex Budget 2025–26 compared to Rs 678.94 crore in 2024–25, marking a reduction of Rs 44.41 crore.

The department, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), while responding to MLA Surinder Kumar Choudhary’s query, attributed the decrease to the rationalization and prioritization of available resources and the need to maintain overall fiscal discipline—(KNO)
