Six Tourists Injured in Road Accident at Sonamarg, Two Referred to SKIMS

Ganderbal, Oct 28, KNT: Six tourists from Jammu’s Udhampur district were injured on Tuesday after a collision between an Eicher truck and a Tempo Traveller on the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road near Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Officials said the mishap occurred when an Eicher truck (registration number JK06C-3080) collided with a Tempo Traveller (registration number JK21J-5634), resulting in injuries to six occupants, including the driver of the Tempo.

The injured were initially shifted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Sonamarg for immediate medical aid, where two of them were later referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment.

Those injured have been identified as Pawan (20), son of Chuni Lal; Dhruv (22), son of Samsar Chand; Vishaka (34), wife of Prasad; Ashish (17), son of Chuni Lal; driver Chamail Singh, son of N.K.; and Ujwal, daughter of Narinder Kumar, all residents of Udhampur, Jammu.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident. [KNT]
