Kashmir witnessed a notable decline in fire incidents during the last 24 hours, with only two cases reported across the Kashmir Range, offering a sense of relief amid an otherwise demanding period.

Despite the reduced number of incidents, Fire and Emergency Services personnel remained on full alert and responded promptly to both calls.

Firefighting teams were mobilised without delay, ensuring swift containment of the fires and preventing any major loss of life or property. The response reflected the department’s professionalism, operational readiness and courage under pressure.

Senior officers closely monitored the situation while on-ground teams demonstrated effective coordination and discipline during the operations. The continued vigilance of the department played a key role in maintaining control and minimising damage.

Speaking on the development, ADGP Fire and Emergency Services Alok Kumar said that the decline in incidents was an encouraging sign and highlighted growing public awareness about fire safety. He urged citizens to remain vigilant, particularly during night hours, and advised against leaving electrical appliances unattended.

He further assured that Fire and Emergency Services units across the Kashmir Range remain on round-the-clock alert to respond to any emergency.

The department has once again appealed to the public to follow fire safety guidelines and report emergencies promptly, stressing that collective responsibility and timely response are crucial to sustaining this positive trend.
