Jammu, Feb 12 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday informed the Legislative Assembly that an indent has been placed with Revenue Authorities in Budgam for providing land to develop a fruit mandi at Hardu-Wamina in the Beerwah constituency.

Replying to a question tabled by MLA Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani, the government, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the indent, vide No. DHPM/MAC/201/2025-26/2860 dated October 31, 2025 has been submitted for land measuring 72 kanals and 16 marlas (Kahcharai land).

“The proposed site is located about 9 kilometres from Hardu-Wamina, Beerwah.”

In response to another query regarding the development of prime horticulture land in the Beerwah constituency, pertaining to the erstwhile walnut processing factory, the government said that a walnut processing plant had been established on land measuring 45 kanals and 15 marlas.

It added that the plant was gutted during the turmoil of the 1990s and that at present, there is no proposal to redevelop the land.—(KNO)
