Anantnag Police Arrested a Drug Peddler, Contraband Seized

Acting on a specific tip-off, Anantnag Police conducted a raid at the residential house of Farooq Ahmad Wani, S/o Ghulam Rasool Wani, R/o Nowbugh Veeri Bijbehara. During the search, charas powder-like contraband substance weighing 371 grams was recovered from the premises.

Accordingly, Case FIR No. 101/2026 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bijbehara. The accused was arrested on the spot, and further investigation into the matter is underway.

This successful operation reflects Anantnag Police’s firm resolve to eradicate the menace of drugs from society. Police reiterates its commitment to safeguard the youth from substance abuse and urges the community to extend cooperation in this collective mission against drug trafficking.
