Budgam,Feb 16 KNT: The Office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer Budgam on Monday issued an order directing all transporters in the district to ensure adequate and reliable transport services during the holy month of Ramadhan 2026.

As per Order, all taxi operators, maxi cab operators and transport companies have been instructed to maintain sufficient public transport facilities in their respective jurisdictions from February 19, 2026 to March 21, 2026.

The order states that in view of expected late-hour travel during Iftiyar time on major routes, transporters have been specifically directed to put in place sufficient arrangements after Iftiyar hours to prevent inconvenience to commuters.

Additionally, Aftab Transport Company Budgam and Western Bus Services Batmaloo have been directed to keep mini-bus services active throughout the month to ensure better connectivity for the general public.

The ARTO has also designated Motor Vehicle Inspectors Asif Amin Chalkoo, Aabid Hussain Mattoo and Amit Dhar to oversee transport arrangements and address any issues during the period. Their contact numbers have been circulated for public assistance.

Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam and other concerned officers for information and necessary action. [KNT]
