Srinagar | February 6, 2026: Marking 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the nationwide “Kashmir to Kanyakumari” Dhwaj Yatra associated with the film Shatak: Sangh Ke 100 Varsh was launched today from Srinagar’s historic Lal Chowk in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. Lal Chowk, draped in Bhagwa, emerged as a defining national visual — emotional, symbolic, and historic — as the saffron flag representing India’s cultural identity was hoisted to commence the journey.

The initiative aims to take the film’s message across the country, highlighting the RSS’s ideological, social, and cultural journey over the past century, while also bringing forward lesser-known chapters of its role in strengthening & unification of Kashmir’s integration with India, envisioned by M. S. Golwalkar Ji.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of local residents of Srinagar who walked together in the yatra, creating one of the most powerful visuals of the day. Their presence stood as a real and visible example of unity on the ground — breaking stereotypes, sparking conversation, and reflecting the grassroots spirit of social harmony long associated with the RSS.

As part of the nationwide awareness drive, the Yatra will travel through major cities across India, beginning with a peaceful march from Lal Chowk before proceeding towards Jammu, carrying forward a message of unity, pride, and national consciousness.

Speaking on the occasion, RSS Karyakarta & film producer Vir Kapur said, “the yatra started from lal chowk with a 1min silence to pay tribute to the RSS karyakarta, local Kashmiri residents & Bhartiya sena who lost their lives & played a vital role, to ensure kashmir’s unification & freedom struggle during the partition in 1947”. This journey also honors the historic period when the critical struggle to integrate Kashmir took place—a story we want to share with every citizen. (The participation of local residents, social organizations, and our Kashmiri brothers from the Muslim community reflects that this initiative is about promoting dialogue, service, and national unity.”

He further added, ” Kashmir is an integral part of India—not just in geography, but in culture and spirit. Throughout its journey, the Sangh has worked to keep Kashmir connected to India’s national consciousness. The film Shatak: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ke Sau Varsh pays tribute to Guruji Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar Ji’s invaluable efforts and to the historic struggle that ensured Kashmir remained a part of India’s national spirit.”

Conceptualized by Anil D. Agarwal and directed by Ashish Mal, the film is co-produced by Ashish Tiwari with associate producers Pavan Sindhi and Kabir Sadanand, and is set for a nationwide theatrical release on February 19, 2026.
