Man Rescued After Jumping into Dal Lake in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 12, KNT: An unidentified person was rescued after he jumped into Srinagar’s Dal Lake on Thursday, prompting swift action by locals who pulled him to safety and handed him over to the police.

According to reports, the incident occurred near the busy Dalgate stretch, drawing the attention of passersby and inhabitants. Locals immediately responded and managed to bring the individual out of the Lake before any serious harm could occur.

The rescued person was subsequently handed over to Police Station Nehru Park for further necessary action. Officials said the identity of the individual was yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

Police have taken cognizance of the matter and further proceedings are underway. [KNT]
