– The education fraternity of Awantipora today organized two grand and deeply emotional farewell ceremonies to honor the distinguished careers of Ms. Rubeena Subhan (Master) at Government Boys High School (GBHS) Awantipora and Mr. Nazir Ahmad Khanday (Headmaster) at BHS Amlar Nowpora. Both educators, known for their unwavering commitment to the “Moral Architecture” of the student community, were bid a heartfelt adieu as they reached their superannuation, leaving behind a profound professional legacy.

At GBHS Awantipora, the atmosphere was a blend of reverence and nostalgia. A significant highlight of the event was a scholarly and moving lecture delivered by Mr. Gh Hassan Dar. In his address, Gh Hassan Dar reflected on the “Silent Revolution” Ms. Rubeena spearheaded in her classrooms. He elaborated that her role was never confined to textbooks; rather, she was a master of shaping the character of her students, ensuring they left the institution with a strong ethical foundation. ZEO Awantipora, Mohd Amin Padder, praised her impeccable discipline and administrative precision, stating that her career serves as a model for the entire department.
The teaching staff shared minute and personal details of her impact. Usma Gull described Ms. Rubeena as a “guiding light” whose subtle presence provided constant strength to the younger staff. Aashaq Khanday (Teacher) dwelled on her tireless commitment, noting that she treated every school challenge as a personal responsibility, while Tahir Ahmad Rather emphasized the “motherly aura” she maintained, which provided an emotional safety net for every student under her care.
Simultaneously, a grand ceremony at BHS Amlar Nowpora celebrated the transformative tenure of Headmaster Nazir Ahmad Khanday. The event was characterized by high-pitched tributes to a leader who prioritized academic rigor and structural growth. Mr. Mohammad Mansoor provided an elaborative testimonial of the Headmaster’s visionary leadership, highlighting his minute attention to school discipline and his ability to inspire a sense of duty among his subordinates.
Khanday Aashaq Hassan spoke with deep respect regarding the “incorruptible spirit” and absolute integrity that defined his career. He recalled how the Headmaster’s firm yet fair decisions navigated the school through various challenges. Furthermore, Dilawer Ahmad Wani added that Mr. Khanday’s legacy is etched not just in the official records, but in the “intellectual spark” he ignited in the youth of the village.
Traditional Honors and Farewell
In a dignified conclusion to the events, both retiring officials were honored with traditional Kashmiri Shawls, elegant Mementoes, and Gifts presented by their respective colleagues These tokens symbolized the collective gratitude of a community that has deeply benefited from their wisdom and service.
