The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Pulwama successfully organized the District Level Exhibition and Project Competition (DLEPC) under the flagship INSPIRE Awards-MANAK Scheme (2024-25) today at Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS), Pampore. The event served as a prestigious platform for the region’s budding scientists to showcase grassroots innovations and original technological solutions.
The competition saw participation from 44 government and private schools across the district. Each participating student presented a prototype model addressing real-world challenges, reflecting the growing scientific temperament among the youth of Pulwama.
Distinguished Guests and Evaluation
The exhibition was graced by Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Srinagar (holding additional charge as Principal DIET Pampore), alongside expert teams from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and the National Innovation Foundation (NIF). Senior officials and Heads of Departments (HoDs) from the Education Department were also in attendance to mentor the participants.
A dedicated panel of jury members evaluated the 44 projects based on originality, feasibility, and social impact. Following a rigorous assessment, six outstanding students were nominated to represent the district at the upcoming Union Territory (UT) level competition.
Special Recognition
A significant highlight of the event was the special felicitation of a Kashmiri Pandit student, who achieved the distinct honor of being ranked among the Top 30 INSPIRE MANAK awardees nationwide. This achievement was celebrated as a testament to the academic excellence and innovative potential prevalent in the district. Commitment to Innovation Speaking at the conclusion of the event, officials emphasized that the INSPIRE-MANAK scheme is instrumental in fostering a culture of creative thinking and problem-solving. Under the supervision of the District Nodal Officer, the department reaffirmed its commitment to providing these young innovators with the necessary mentorship to scale their projects to the national stage.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, celebrating the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, and the district administration in making the exhibition a resounding success.
