AWANTIPORA — FEBRUARY 28, 2026 —The educational fraternity of Dadasara and the Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Awantipora organized a grand farewell ceremony to honor the superannuation of Mr. Mohd. Ashraf Ahanger, a veteran teacher whose career has been a benchmark of integrity and resilience. The event was attended by Mr. Mohd Shafi Shah (Principal GHSS Dadasara), Mr. Mohd Amin Pader (ZEO Awantipora), senior officials, colleagues, and community members who gathered to celebrate a life devoted to selfless service. Born into a modest family and the son of a hardworking blacksmith, Mr. Ashraf’s journey from Government Degree College Anantnag to the University of Kashmir was defined by academic excellence and a steadfast refusal to compromise on his principles despite systemic challenges. After starting his career at Hamdania School and MTI Tral, he joined the Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) scheme in 2001, where he famously transformed a single rented wooden room into a thriving and respected educational institution through sheer determination. Known as the “moral compass” of his school, Mr. Ashraf’s soft-spoken nature and compassionate teaching style produced a generation of successful professionals, including doctors, engineers, and administrators. During the ceremony, speakers lauded him not just as a teacher of subjects, but as a builder of character who remained a pillar of stability for over two decades.
