3 Plant-Based Recipes to Support Women's Hormonal Balance

From the Aushadhi Consommé packed with herbs like Ashoka and Shatavari, to the Organic Raggi & Avocado Burger rich in protein and calcium, and finally, the Quinoa & Maraschino Granola Bar filled with nuts and seeds, each dish is designed to nourish and support women’s wellness in a flavorful and satisfying way. These three plant-based recipes curated by Biswarup Chatterjee, Executive Chef, Hilton Garden Inn, New Delhi/Saket, offer delicious options aimed at supporting women’s hormonal balance.

Aushadhi Consommé

A herbal clear broth to take care of your periods- Contains Ashoka for regular period flow, Shatavari for regulating oestrogen naturally, Ashwagandha for immunity, Lodhra for hormonal balance, Garcinia for weight management, Saffron for preventing muscle cramps and period inflammation and Lemon Grass for reliving anxiety.

Ingredients & Quantity

 Ashoka- 10 gms

Shatavari-10 gms

Ashwagandha-10 gms

Lodhra-10 gms

Garcinia-10 gms

Saffron- .01gms

Lemon Grass Stem-10 gms

Turmeric Fresh- 15 gms

Method- Take 500 ml of water and soak all the ingredients overnight. Boil everything together for at lest 10 minutes and strain it through a muslin cloth. Enjoy !

Organic Raggi & Avocado Burger

 

Foxtail Millet Idly, Hash avocado, Rocket lettuce, Chipotle ranch, Lactose free cheddar cheese, coconut chutney & gun powder. Raggi high in protein and calcium is a energy booster for post pregnancy mothers.

Ingredients & Quantity

Raggi Flour-500 gms

Yeast-10 gms

Avocado- 1 kg

Grated Fresh coconut-500 gms

Roasted Chana dal-50 gms

Green Chilly-20 gms

Black Mustard Seeds-5 gms

Lactose free Cheese-300 gms

Rocket Lettuce-200 gms

Tomatoes-200 gms

Chipotle Mayonnaise- 200 gms

Onions red- 50gms

Garlic Pealed-30 gms

Cajun Spice- 50 gms

Salt- as per taste

Olive oil- 200 ml


Method
– For raggi bread make a dough of raggi and and 200 ml of water, salt, 20 ml olive oil and yeast. Cover it with a plastic wrap and keep it overnight to ferment. Bake it at 280.

For the coconut chutney- Take 50 ml olive oil in a pan add mustard seeds, chana dal & green chilies and sauté it. In a mixer grinder add the mixture and fresh grated coconut and bled it with 50 ml of water.

Arrange the burger- Spread the chipotle mayo on the idly and top it up with, tomato slice, onion slice, avocado slice, rocket lettuce & cheddar cheese.

Serve the burger with freshly grated coconut chutney.

Quinoa & Maraschino Granola Bar

Almond, peanuts, Walnuts, sunflower & pumpkin seeds and flaxseeds mixed with oats and floral honey and baked. These nuts are rich in Biotin which will act as a supplement for maintaining hormonal balance & reducing hair fall and promotes growth thus enhancing healthy and nourished hair.

Ingredients & Quantity

Almond- 100 gms

Peanuts skin less-100 gms

Walnuts-100 gms

Sunflower Seeds-250 gms

Pumpkin Seeds-250 gms

Flax Seeds-50 gms

Rolled Oats-100 gms

Corn Flakes-100 gms

Fruit Loops-100 gms

Floral Honey-200 ml

Cinnamon Powder-15 gms

Brown Sugar-100 gm

Dried Maraschino cherries-200 gms

Method- Crush the sunflower seeds and remove the outer shells, take all the nuts and seeds in a tray and toast it. Crush the mixture roughly and keep it aside.

In a pan take honey, sugar & cinnamon powder and cook it for some time till it gets lightly caramelised. Mix everything together and roll it into a slab.

Bake it at 140 degrees centigrade for 15 minutes and let it cool. Cut it in bar shape and serve.
